Chapter 42

• Blaise typed the last few items she was going to need if they were to become road runners and stay off all radars. Hitting send, she sent it off to a guy named Zain. Calum assured her would get all of it and probably extras too. She didn’t know where they were going to go; the list of places hadn’t been given to her yet.
• Tucking her phone back in her pocket, she looked around, there were more bodies in the kitchen, but Griffin wasn’t one of them. She glanced into the other room, he wasn’t there either. Panic filled her, even though she knew he wouldn’t take off. He was too important by too many to leave her sight. Her cat rolled through her, reminding her there were other reasons too. Blaise wasn’t ready to admit that to the animal inside her. She pushed through the door and stepped out onto the deck. Griffin stood near the end, leaning on the railing. Noah was beside him.
• Noah inclined his head to her as he walked down the steps, “I can’t hear this.” He said quietly, “I’ll be in the shop with Jake if I’m needed.”
