Chapter 8

  • The chirping of the birds, rays of the sun and the warmness of it wakes me up from my slumber.
  • "Shocks, shocks!" I murmured while fixing my bed the best as I can.
  • I will be late for my first class and I haven't yet prepared something for James.
  • I did my shower in just five minutes which was a record of me and hurriedly went to the kitchen.
  • "Good morning sunshine!" James chirped to my out of breath face.
  • He was cooking breakfast, and everything was on the table.
  • "I'm sorry..." and he cut me off.
  • "Just take your seat and eat." He said pointing the chair.
  • "Thanks for the invite but I think I need to go; I will be late for my first class." I declined and he gets up at that.
  • "I figured. So, I prepare something for you." It was a box of food, packed breakfast.
  • "Oh." I was clearly surprised.
  • "You don't have to James," I said.
  • "It would be nice, if you say, 'Thank you, James.' instead." As he showed me a cute smile.
  • Gosh. I don't want to be late by just staring at him for more minutes. I slap internally myself with that thinking.
  • "Thank you, James." As I received my packed breakfast and get my things back in my room.
  • It's just day two and I already failed my job.
  • I have fifteen minutes left for my first class to begin and it's impossible for my running to be there even just in time.
  • I was on the doorway shaking my head when a car horn.
  • "Lily, what are you doing? Get in!" James said as if he was also in a hurry.
  • I just looked at him in disbelief and he horned his car again making me jumped.
  • "You will be late, or we will make it on time if you will move your feet there!" He said and I did not just move my feet but ran towards him.
  • I was barely clutching my seatbelt when the car starts for our dear lives.
  • The running was giving me out of breath but sitting inside his car is far worst.
  • "Are you trying to kill us?" I said in heavy breathing.
  • "Nope. I'm trying to make it on time!" He said then he focused himself on the road again.
  • "You don't have to if we will die because of this!"
  • "Trust me, sunshine, we will not die. Just let me focus on the road, okay?" He said and I obliged.
  • There is nothing I can but to keep quiet.
  • I used the minutes with him by secretly looking at him.
  • I know it wasn't a dream last night that we talked; I know it was real.
  • I was in deep thinking when the car stopped making my body to push forward hitting the dashboard, I mean his arm.
  • "We're here sunshine." He said very close to me as his arm still on my front.
  • It was the time I heard him calling me 'sunshine'. I furrowed my eyebrows at that.
  • My hair is not gold for him to call me that.
  • "You don't like to get out?" He teased as I was clearly out of mind for seconds.
  • "Oh." And I get out of his car the fast as I can, forgetting the seatbelt.
  • Imagine what I look like? I was really embarrassed!
  • He helped me undone the seatbelt and thanked him while he was busy at it.
  • "Thank you, James," I said and get out from his car the moment I was free.
  • I heard him chuckled making me smiled from ear to ear.
  • I was grateful for his deeds, I'm just on time and I have this packed breakfast he prepared for me.
  • "Girl, I think you need to tell me something later." Mira talked out of nowhere making me jumped.
  • "Mira!"
  • "Girl, let's go!" As she dragged me in the process.
  • I looked back and I still saw him there, and I feel my own heart beating or maybe it was because of the running.
