Chapter 10

  • The ride was quiet with Zipporah at the back, unsettled as the crowd on the street hastened their footsteps to escape the drizzling sky. She wished she could go back to the simplicity they seemed to possess. They moved with a direction her life was in sudden need of. She sighed and stole her gaze away from the window, it made her heart ache and it reminded her of the way she had stormed out of her friends. Was it selfish if she hoped they were there when she returned?
  • The road was clear, there was no traffic to give her more time to dwell in her heated decision. She rubbed the ring on her finger and it took her mind to her phone. She was sure she had several miss calls from Collins, yet she wasn’t inclined to speak to him. What was she suppose to tell him? He knew of Adam and she knew how much Collins hated him after all he had done to her.
  • Her fingers moved her ring around, she stared at it and wished she could take it off without her action holding more meaning that it should. Her brows frowned before her brain could catch on. She cussed under her breath and felt a need to punch something or someone. She was still in her One direction top which didn’t look so bad but her grey joggers wasn’t meant to witness the outside world. She was about to ask for the car to be turned around but then she didn’t want anyone to think she wanted to look good for Adam. Her confidence sank lower than it ever should. She couldn’t breathe as much fire as she’d planned to if she looked like a coming of age tomboy. She clutched her forehead, the sense of future embarrassment was ploughing her brain. What was more important, looking good for a man you don’t care for or knowing the truth about what almost took your life? She reasoned, but was almost tempted to pick the former.
