Chapter 6

  • "Am hungry, I didn't have any breakfast." She spoke out.
  • "Well you'll just have to get used to it. I didn't have breakfast either but am not complaining. So keep quiet am trying to sleep." Gemini sighed regretting the decision she made. After a while of driving Layton called out the driver.
  • "Stop by at the nearest restaurant." Layton thought of how pathetic she was being. As soon as they got to the restaurant they had their breakfast then left.
  • It was in the afternoon when they approached their destination. The girl noticed that there where a good number of houses that where built a distance away from the main city houses, their car drove past the other houses to an enormous building. The car parked beside the stairs that led to the front door of the house. Gemini stepped out with Layton and walked in the building and she was amazed with the designs. She had never seen a place so spectacular and luxurious like this.
  • "This is my house so you'll be living with me for now on." She wondered.
  • "Why all this way?" She asked.
  • "For protection either from enemies or humans so I would advice you to inform me first before you leave." He walked her to the kitchen.
  • "You know how to cook?" He asked her. She did not how to cook as her mother always cooked for her but she felt embarrassed so she said…
  • "Yes I do, I am the best cook." She felt guilty.
  • "Good then you'll cook our lunch." Gemini's smile turned to a frown. She had lied she was an excellent cook.
  • "I'll be heading out do I'll expect it done when I get back." She nodded and he left. She felt herself panic as she looked around for something she at least knew but everything was knew for her then Strider came along.
  • "Layton told me you where going to be cooking so he invited me." He said with a smirk on his face. She panicked, she never thought he would do that.
  • "Am looking forward to the meal." He lastly said then left. She rushed to the fridge and took out the first thing she could find which a raw full turkey and remembered how her mother used to cook it. She took the turkey and packed it in the oven then turned it on. She later wondered around as she was waiting for the turkey to cook, she just couldn't believe how someone would afford a place like that after a couple of walks she then remembered the oven and rushed to the kitchen. She felt like fainting once she saw a large cloud of smoke in the kitchen, she rushed for the windows and pushed them right open to her luck the smoke cleared out immediately. She took out the turkey from the oven and the food was burnt out badly just then the kitchen telephone rang.
  • "Hello." She answered.
  • "I hope your almost done and I invited Strider and Arlene to join us." Layton's voice was herd and Gemini felt hopeless so she took out several food items and combined them in one pot. Layton walked towards Hunter who was in charge of the whole pack's safety he provided the pack with information.
  • "Anything I need to know?" The alpha asked. Hunter nodded.
  • "No, nothing from the other packs but the police on the other hand." Hunter said as he faced the alpha.
  • "What is it?" Hunter took out some papers and handed them to the alpha.
  • "They think we're on to something and well they've been sending men to spy on us." The alpha looked at the papers then back at Hunter.
  • "What's this?" Layton asked.
  • "They want permission to search or observe us." Layton thought, if the police suspected them it means they must have found or seen something. He knew the situation was bad.
  • "Can't shake them off?" Layton said as he handed Hunter the papers.
  • "It won't be easy, if we kill them they'll know it was us. Am just waiting for your orders sir." Layton thought hard. He was afraid something like this would happen. Hunter snapped.
  • "Oh I forgot the moon stone pack had recently bought a massive land from the western." Hunter said.
  • "Why?" Layton asked curious.
  • "Am not sure, could be for business purpose." Hunter suggested but Layton couldn't ignore the information, he had known Jones for a long time and knew the knew the way he thought. On top of that he wandered what Jones was doing at the mating ceremony in the first place.
  • "At the mating ceremony Jones was there but I wonder why. He already has a wife doesn't he" Layton spoke up.
  • "Maybe he was looking for another wife. Herd she doesn't sit well with him." Hunter chuckled.
  • "He came alone though." Layton sighed as he tried to make sense of the situation.
  • "If you feel like his actions are a threat then I'll have him and his pack watched, I can get hold of their seller and he'll provide us with information." Hunter said and Layton nodded.
  • "I want you to keep an eye on the police too, they are the biggest threat right now and tell them they don't have the permission." Hunter nodded. Layton walked away and made his way to Arlene.
  • "Look I need you to keep an eye on Gemini. I don't think she can defend herself." Arlene turned worried.
  • "What happened?" She asked.
