Chapter 3

  • Sleeping beauty is sleeping in her room until the chirping of birds wake her up, she slowly opens her eyes to reveal blue gems, they glisten in the sunlight and a small smile paints her lips.
  • “Morning already?” She rubs her eyes as she yawns loudly, ruffling her magenta hair and throwing it to the side, she slides out of her bed to open the blinds properly, “just two days left!!” She screams to herself and does a little celebratory twirl, “I wonder what mother is going to get me this time!!!” She claps excitedly as she hurried to get groomed.
  • She runs out of the bathroom, throwing the towel on the floor and sitting in front of her mirror bare, trying to do her hair herself this time around.
  • She sighs In exasperation as she couldn’t hold her tresses herself.
  • “I wonder how mother always does it,” she murmurs to herself and gives up, eventually just putting it into a simple bun. She pulls up a floral dress, just above the knee and attached her favorite clip to her hair.
  • It was a rose clip with stones that her mother gave her when she clocked 10.
  • She wondered what she would give her now that she would be 18 in two days.
  • She walks out of her room to see her personal maids about walking in, surprised that the princess decided to wake up and groom herself this time around, maybe Arcadia was turning a new leaf.
  • No, she wanted to know what her birthday gift was.
  • “Octavia, could you help me with this?” Her husband asks her to help him with his royal jewelry, she drops her comb and turns to him, helping him wear his rings and crown, she smiles satisfactorily, “I didn’t see you in bed last night, where were you? He questions which makes her burst into laughter.
  • “Are you scared that I would’ve run away?”
  • She laughs louder at her joke while she made sure the head ornament was well placed.
  • “That’s not the answer to my question.” He is firm with his words which makes her roll her eyes,
  • “I was in the garden, wanted to get some fresh air, I had a nightmare that’s all.” She throws in the towel before he began to suspect her.
  • “A revelation? What did you see dear?” He’s suddenly intrigued, and that was the reason she didn’t want to tell him in the first place,
  • “I don’t understand it yet so I can’t say…..” She takes her time, “but I saw fire, and fire means danger.”
  • She warns before deciding that the crown was well placed, “my reward?” She places her hand on his chest, expecting something from him, he bends to take her lips in his, sucking on it gently resulting in a low moan from her, he breaks it to stare into her hypnotic magenta orbs, “men.” She shakes her head.
  • “I would punish you for sneaking out yesterday but I have things to attend to, when I’m done I would deal with you accordingly.” He flirts with her.
  • “That is if you see me Magnus, Arcadia’s birthday is in two days and I’m sure she’s rushing to get her gift from me when In the real sense I haven’t even thought of what to give her yet.”
  • Her shoulders slump as she let out a frustrated sigh, Magnus laughs at her comical expression before kissing her once again.
  • “I wish I could save you but I’m in the same predicament, I would avoid her as much as possible if I were you.”
  • He advises before walking to the door, “but please make yourself available by noon, we have unfinished matters to attend to.” He opens the door to take his leave.
  • Once he is out of sight she closes the door once more, to get her hair done, she sits in front of her mirror and plays with her magenta hair to see the best style she could put it in to oppress her daughter with it. She puts it in waves with a bit of in front.
  • She liked doing her hair herself, it was her ultimate pride, the sign of her clan. As she admired herself in the mirror, her thoughts wander to last night and what happened. Her being in his arms after her dream always calmed her down.
  • “Xerxes…..” She moans his name out at the memory, he truly didn’t spare her, he took all of her and he gave all of himself in exchange, he was the true definition of a man to her. And she couldn’t resist him no matter how hard she tried.
  • She pulls some of her luxurious locks away from neck her to reveal a love bite, her eyes dilated in lust and love, “he’s such a fool, did he have to put it there.” She curses him before laughing to herself.
  • She was unfaithful but happy, destiny had been cruel to her but she was able to find a bit of happiness in the storms of her life, treasuring the little bit of love that came her way, not caring what she was perceived as.
  • If they found out she would be called all sorts of names; a cheat, unfaithful, promiscuous, a liar, but in all of that, she would be happy with everything she has.
  • She never asked for royalty, it came as a blessing in disguise, as she was opportune to meet Xerxes.
  • Her thoughts trail to the revelation she had, her lover was bleeding badly and she was killed by her own husband.
  • And her daughter, Arcadia wanted to hold her so bad but she couldn’t. She was confused and hurt, and deep down, Octavia knew she was going to face a lot in her life.
  • Since she came from her clan.
  • But she was beginning to understand the meaning of the dream, it was all figurative, there was always a twist to everything.
  • But she knew she was going to lose her life eventually, and the pain in Arcadia’s heart is something she would carry for a long time after her death.
  • It would be geared towards someone she is supposed to be madly in love with.
  • And Xerxes would be wounded by her departure since he would’ve failed to protect his Queen.
  • And Magnus, her husband……he would have a hand in everything that would transpire.
  • This much she could figure out but she had no idea how exactly it would happen, she had no clue how she would die. But she would die protecting her world.
  • Her family.
  • As a born wolf she was taught to defend her pack, and die defending it.
  • A knock breaks all of her thoughts and brings her back to reality, staring at her reflection, before turning to the wooden frame,
  • “Come in.”
