Chapter 9 Jealousy

  • We went inside and he made me put on some clothes. He would wait outside and talk with the store staff as I changed and I would go out from the dressing room to wait for his approval.
  • But I have tried 20 outfits, and he only chose two clothes complaining that some were not my style, not suits me, or were too revealing.
  • But I could not miss out on the slight hint of a smirk he has on his face. It’s obvious that between us, he’s the one enjoying this the most.
  • “Can we go now?”
  • He smirked, “Are you tired already?”
  • I nodded but he shook his head, “Alright, let’s go now, but we’re not going home yet.”
  • In the end, he paid for all the clothes I put on and even bought me dresses, heels, and bags.
  • I knew I would not even be able to wear all of those considering how I’m planning for my escape from them.
  • “You’re too lucky to have a boyfriend like him, miss!” Sealed the store staff. Another staff looked at me with envy and jealous stares but I just let them.
  • Alpha Zef heard it and instanlty smiled, his hand snaking around my waist, “Looks at them being jealous of you, Arya.”
  • He’s enjoying this attention so much. I sighed, “Where are we going next?”
  • Alpha Zef just went quiet and hopped in his car. He drove us around before making me close my eyes. He then guided me outside where he made me open my eyes and I saw big flowers laid out everywhere. I recognize the place. This was just one of my fantasies as a rogue.
  • I never even stepped foot in the mall before, what more to this?
  • It’s a cinema.
  • And right now, it’s only the two of us.
  • “I rented the whole place out.” He said, “Like it?”
  • I instanlty ran around, looking at it and letting myself explore the place.
  • “Why did you pick out this place?” I asked.
  • He shrugged, “I just felt like it.” He said. “Now let’s sit down. The show is about to begin.”
  • He disappeared for a minute and when he returned he appeared with big bowls of food with drinks.
  • I looked at it carefully, trying to name the food as it was my first time seeing it. “What is this?”
  • He looked at me in disbelief, “You never ate this before?”
  • I avoided his eyes, “You know I’m a rogue. We’re only focused on surviving.”
  • His hands reached out to my cheek and softly patted it, “Well. not anymore, you’re part of our pack now.” He smiled, his eyes staring into my soul as if burying me six feet to the ground but I can’t help but feel my heart sinking when he said that.
  • He then grabbed my chin and made me look at him, “So tell me what you two did yesterday.”
  • I gulped, avoiding eye contact, so we’re going to talk about that again? About me and Alpha Kai yesterday at the river…
  • It really bothers him that much?
  • “Nothing that suits you.”
  • “You know I won’t stop until you’ll give in, right?” He smirked, “Sooner or later, I’ll know it.”
  • “Then why do I have to report every single thing I do to you? You’re not my guardian.”
  • His smirk dropped, “I’m your mate too, don’t you remember?”
  • “I hate that my blood irks knowing that you got out other than me. But what I hate the most is that I could not control it.” He said. “You think I like this? With my head raging with the thought of your every action, my ears itching to hear every word you utter, my nose wanting to be near you just so I could smell you.” He said, “You know that out of my control, my heart races whenever I’m with you.”
  • My heart instantly picked up and I stayed quiet.
  • I didn’t expect him to say that to me. Why the hell would he even utter that?
  • He noticed my discomfort and just went quiet. The whole duration of the movie continued as we watched in silence. Awkward tension lingers, and I avoided and acted as if he was thin air.
  • The movie was in the middle of the scenes and a sudden moaning from the characters appeared, in the middle of their passion scenes.
  • I swallowed, acting as if distracted and Alpha Zef turned to me.
  • When the movie ended, I instanlty stood up and followed him to his car quietly.
  • He was in the driver’s seat while I was seated beside him and he looked pissed.
  • “You did not even replied to my confession. Are you choosing my brother more than me?”
  • “It’s not like that. You took me by surprise, you know how much I hated you two for stealing me from my pack and making my pack live hell yet here you are telling me something like that.”
  • “Why? You’re my mate.” He emphasized. “But I apologize if I came off strong. I just want you to know that. My feelings.” He then cleared his throat, “Damn, I just ruined our trip, didn’t I? Did you enjoy today?”
  • I nodded, if I don’t think about what he said earlier, then I somehow…liked it. I enjoyed watching the movie….it relieved my stress, even for just an hour.
  • “Good, I’m glad you did,” Alpha Zef was smiling now as he drove us back to their pack.
  • When we got back, I noticed that the sky was already dark. He took me back to my room and even carried all the clothes he bought for me. He placed it on the floor and was about to say something when a deep voice interrupted him.
  • “What is this, brother? These shopping bags?” It was Alpha Kai, standing behind us as he cross his arms in front of him with furrowed eyebrows.
  • “We went on a date. Why? You’re jealous?” He smirked and Alpha Kai clenched his jaw.
  • “You took her out in the open? What if someone saw her? What if-”
  • Alpha Zef rolled his eyes, “Stop it, Kai. Stop it while I’m being nice. Don’t even try to ruin my day.”
  • “Why? I’m just-”
  • “I’m there to protect her, and who are you to lecture me?” He asked, grabbing my arm.
  • They both stared down and I got in between, “I’ll sleep now.”
  • They both turned their heads at me.
  • “Goodnight then, sleep well and dream of me, Arya.” Alpha Zef said, winking at me.
  • My lips curved into a smile and I saw Alpha Kai’s face darken, “Next time, Arya, don’t go with him. No one would know when the others might attack you.”
  • I ignored the two and went back to my room, shutting it behind me as I sighed. What a day.
