Chapter 7 The Wedding Still Goes On

  • “Mu Shiyu, nineteen-year-old. She's the adopted daughter of the Mu family. Just graduated from the A City Film Academy. Her family does business. They have a small company, and she’s been dating the second young master of the Chi family since the first year of university until today. The woman who should be in the Siegfried Hotel that night was supposed to be another virgin, but she bumped into you by mistake.” Before the twenty-eight floor's French window, chief executive assistant, Joanna, was reporting her findings. The one she was reporting to was President Huo Qian, the only heir to the Huo group.
  • Joanna looked at Huo Qian's capricious expression, then she added hesitatingly, “According to Ms. Mu's call record and other investigations, her appearance at Siegfried Hotel stems from the fact that her foster Mom lied to her. She was going to be sold off to sleep with a deputy director.” There was a hint of pity in her voice, and then the temperature around them seemingly dropped.
  • The man who was sitting on the chair before her suddenly opened his eyes, his gaze terrifyingly cold. As Joanna looked at Huo Qian's dreadfully cold eyes, a chill ran down her spine, and she regretted to speak out of line.
  • A long while later, Huo Qian replied, “Understood. You may go out now.”
  • Joanna thought she had heard it wrongly, for she thought all the investigations that were done regarding this Ms. Mu wouldn't end up being this simple. However, she was used to following her boss' orders, so without any hesitation, she bowed at him before going out.
  • After she had left, Huo Qian stood up and went in front of the window. As he looked outside pensively, the man frowned. He was brought back to that night, where that petite lady had to take all his pent-up lust. It was as if a pleasant dream, that experience was. He let loose the beast within him on her, and the man actually liked how it feel. However, right after he was done, she unhesitatingly ran away while he was asleep. Surprising.
  • He was an aloof man, so being so not in control was unprecedented for him. Even though he remembered the overwhelming excitement that night, he pushed the urge to relive it down. The man did not send anyone to search for her, but surprisingly, he remembered who the woman was, even though it was dark that night. All it took was a hug and a gasp, and that urge to ravage her swelled up within him. However, she told him she had forgotten it. The sneer on his face froze, then it turned into an angry scowl.
  • Something deep appeared on his expression. He looked at his hand, as if he could still feel the warmth of her tears. A long while later, he sneered. “Forgotten about it, huh?” He turned around and looked down nonchalantly at the photo on the document. The girl in the photo was innocent and beautiful. Her hair was flying around, while she was smiling sweetly at the camera. Huo Qian's expression tensed up, then it fell. A moment later, he called a number through the landline. “Bring Su Shiyunyun to Siegfried Hotel two hours later.”
  • He thought it was impossible that only that innocent girl could make him feel ecstasy.
  • After hastily leaving the banquet, Mu Shiyu hailed a ride to go back home alone. It wasn't until the next day did Chi An text her, saying that he was drunk last night, so someone took him to the guest room. Mu Shiyu held the phone for a long while, then she answered, 'Oh.'
  • When Chi An received the message, he was soaking himself in the bathtub, frowning in frustration. He did have sex with Kang Cier last night, but thanks to that unexpected one night stand, he found out that aside from Mu Shiyu, he couldn't do any woman passionately. All he did was plain, perfunctory sex to get over with it.
  • Even though Kang Cier was leaning against him shyly, all he could think of was Mu Shiyu. Her smile, her tears, and her sweet expressions. Something stabbed his heart, and it pained him. After he played around with his phone for a while and recover all the deleted photos, he stared at them for a long while before texting her, “The wedding will go on, Shiyu.”
  • Mu Shiyu received a call from home the next day, and it was about the return of Mr. Mu.
