Chapter 8

• MAXWELL
• I don't understand and i don't want to , the only thing am interested in is the whereabouts of my wife, Angel. i left her under your care mother , how dare you tell me she disappeared
• just like that, and you expect me to believe you?, i knew from the beginning that you don't like her but i didn't think that you can make her disappear too, i don't want to hear stories, now provide my wife or you will not like what i will do to this whole palace, that was Maxwell boiling with rage, if the woman he was talking to now was not her mother he would have crushed her bones to dust, he had left for less than a month thinking that his wife would be safe with his family but when he gets back , the news they give him is that she was missing, how can he not be mad, the worst thing is that they didn't tell him the moment she went missing they were there awaiting his return as if they had good news.
• Maxwell even though i don't know why she decided to leave before you came back , it has nothing to do with me, furthermore i think its a good thing since she was a burden , how were you even surviving with such a creature in the same house , someone you can't laugh out loud with?, the queen asked , she was being careful with her words , she knew her son can turn into a monster if annoyed so after that statement she carefully added, maybe she didn't love you enough that was why she left after i offered her a large sum of money, that clearly shows that she was after your wealth, i think you can see that i helped you eliminate a gold digger.
• Shut the f*ck up mother, Maxwell thundered, he knew his mother well to know she was making up stories and he didn't believe Angel was that kind of person. The queen trembled at the loud voice , she was visibly scared, she tried to turn around and leave in a hurry but she was stopped, Maxwell held her hand , not so fast mother, you first have to tell me where Angel is , i have to look for her at all costs. Feeling the grip on her hand , she knew he was pissed but then she couldn't tell him where angel was , she also had no idea, she had to find a way to cool him down , inside of her she wished that Angel could disappear for good so that her son can find a suitable wife, she also planned introducing him to a few noble ladies in the city that he would choose a wife from ,that would wait for a while until he had cooled down .
• Maxwell didn't f3ear anyone but he respected his father the king so much and the queen knew that, she knew in his presence Maxwell will not make things difficult for her so she called out for him but he was upstairs, she sent a guard to go call him, after a while he came down , Maxwell still maintained his hold on her hand , midway on the stairs , the king saw Maxwell, trouble has come, he said to himself , he said hi to him from a distance and Maxwell answered that , the queen was relieved thinking that she could flee but her excitement was short lived, Maxwell asked with gritted teeth , i want both of you to provide my wife, here and now i don't care how, all i want is to see my wife, his eyes were so red , the king heaved a stressed sigh and asked him to calm down so that they would talk about the issue, he thought that was a joke.
• Calm down you say, how do you expect me to do that ? i left her here thinking she would be safe and now i come for this, do you even care about how i feel , i know she can't just leave like that , you must have done something terrible to her, especially you mother.
• Sit down son there's a lot we need to talk about, the king said.
• After a very long talk, Maxwell saw that they were wasting his time. He decided to leave before his bad temper gets the better part of him, the king tried talking to him politely, he didn't realize what had been happening around until he heard from his wife that Angel was missing, he was so upset, they had an argument with the queen but that could not solve the problem at hand, he knew talking to Maxwell was meaningless so he offered to help him look for her with his forces and resources, Maxwell nodded before getting up to leave, he was not going to make things easy for them so before leaving he told them that if Angel could not be found they should forget having a son like him ,he would never come back to them if his wife was not found, with that ,he left, that statement was heavy ,the queen was shaken, he looked at his husband with her horrified big eyes, they both knew that he wasn't blabbing, the same scenario had happened before and they had not seen him for almost five years ,it was terrible. The king asked her to find where Angel was since he also knew she was responsible, reminding her that he can't afford to loose his son to the world again due to her mistake. She was confused and began thinking of what to do.

• What do I do now, I was so hellbent to make her leave to the extent I didn't think of what my son would do when he found her missing. I thought maybe he didn't love her that much but according to the way things are going, this is far from what I expected, I thought he would just forget about that stupid woman and begin a new relationship but that's not the case. My son might leave, the last time we had a big fight and he left was like torture to me it took years to beg him to come back home, he's very difficult to handle, at this Time if that is to repeat itself I don't know if I will be able to take it, why didn't I think of this outcome, oh my God, the worst thing is that I don't know where she went to , I have sent my men to her village and according to the information they brought back ,she had not gone back there, I don't know of any other place to find her, this stupid woman doesn't have friends I can ask of her whereabouts, I don't like her at all but I can't afford to loose my son again because of her. What do I do, that other woman named Rose was not trustworthy at all I had sent her away after bribing and threatening her not to mention anything that had been happening to Maxwell, I don't even have her contacts, where do I start?
• The queen has been on low spirits for the last one week, since her son threatened to leave for good, she has not had a good night's sleep, she was confident to have dealt with Angel severely to the extent she could not take it any more until she left but the current turn of events was unexpected for her.
• On the other side, Maxwell was greatly depressed, Martin has been trying to get his attention to no avail, He was unusually silent, After he left the palace and went back to his house all he has been doing was drinking and smoking, how he missed her, the smile on her face, her beautiful eyes staring at him, ,her images kept flooding his mind which was doing him no good he missed the taste of her lips and everything else she had.. He called his men, sent Moses to print many copies of Angel's picture in order to use them for the search they were about to conduct, her phone was unreachable and he had no other way of reaching out to her. He reported her disappearance to the police and gave them her pictures to help the search, . When the pictures came they were distributed to all his men ,they were given instructions and decided into four groups which were sent out on different places, he reminded them not to dare come back without any good news , otherwise they will have to face his wrath, they were not foolish and they knew their boss well so, they will have to look for her with everything they had , they knew how much she meant to him, seeing him so down was bad ,they were not happy to so they went out for their search, Maxwell was left home alone and continued smoking in his room ,he didn't seem to mind the smoke that had filled the room, his mind was miles away that he couldn't hear the knocks on the door., only to get startled when someone hit the door with a huge rod that made a loud noise.
