Chapter 4

• They got to the palace , the queen was eager to see this girl who had enticed her son, he never talks if his relationships but he talked to her about this girl that means he was serious with her and that was good news for her , she heard their car driving in and she stood up and looked out through the window, she went back to her sit and waited for them to come in , when they came in Maxwell said hello to his mother, while Angel smile at her while nodding the queen thought it was rude but she kept that to herself, she asked them to sit down then asked the workers yo get them something to drink, she asked what they would prefer and max said orange juice, he didn't drink other things with his mother around, what about you my dear, what would you like to have, she asked Angel, Max said that she can also have the same, and she nodded, the queen noticed that she did that a lot ,she thought maybe she was nervous of which she was, she couldn't believe that Max came from such a wealthy backgrounds, she was yet to come into terms with it , her nervousness began the moment they got to the palace gate , she looked at him with questioning eyes and Max understood her concern he had not told her of his identity yet so tried calming her down before they got in and it worked perfectly. He was going to explain things to her later on .
• Sensing her discomfort, the queen excused herself with the promise of coming back later when she was relaxed so that they could have a chat, he liked her, to be honest ,he didn't want to scare her away for the fear that Maxwell will not settle down anytime soon ,he went upstairs and left them both having their time.
• Later when she came back it was after an hour or so they were watching something she could not catch up with, she sat down on the opposite side and said hae to Angel, she smiled and extended her hand ,the queen shook it and proceeded to ask her more about herself, she kept smiling and had an helpless look on her face , she looked at max and he also had the same expression she felt that something was not right, before she asked another question, Maxwell asked her out and she followed behind him suspiciously, she didn't understand why they were behaving that way until the bomb was released, she couldn't believe what she was hearing, she thought Maxwell was praying a prank on her and she very much hoped so. The look on his face indicated that he was very serious ,she laughed at the bad joke, and as if she had just come to the realization, she asked in a loud voice, what did you just say, Maxwell repeated exactly what he had said ,she felt her knees weaken and sat down on the nearest coach, she asked , so she can't hear me even when I shout right now, he nodded, that was her limit she shouted at him until he covered his ears with his palms, asking if he was mad or something of the sought , Maxwell was prepared and he expected such a situation so he wasn't surprised at all, he stared at his mother's who seemed to have lost her mind. The queen immediately changes her view of Angel, she can't allow her son to be with such a woman , Max had chosen who he wanted to be with so knowing it was close to impossible, he asked his mother not to be hostile to Angel, he further told her that he wasn't going to be with anyone else apart from Angel. The queen was confused, she asked what he liked about her that wasn't in other normal women and Max said he liked everything about her, further saying she was different from every other woman he had met before, the queen had been longing for the time her son would start a family of his own but at this moment she hopes he doesn't, she doesn't want to imagine how he's going to live with her , she also had other stupid thoughts, like what if they had disabled children and more. She asked how they talk to each other and Max told her that he has studied sign language, this is unbelievable, her son got to that extent for a dump woman, she found it hard to believe that it was as if the Max she knew had changed to a new person, that aside she had to think of what to do next, the king had not heard about the issue, she knew he also would not allow that , she asked Max to break things off with the girl before she told the king .Max was not happy with that how can his mother not be sensitive to his feelings was she not the one who had been urging him to get married all the time, why this attitude now, he didn't understand but whatever the reason he wasn't ready to let go of his love, they can do anything they want to. Angel wanted to go home to see her family and so before his mother becomes rude to her , he gestured her that they should be going and with that she stood up, waved at the queen with a smile but the queen didn't know ave back, she wondered what was happening, she had no idea so she followed behind Max, they drove to the bus stop, Angel would be traveling again since they lived in different towns. Maxwell was busy thinking of his mother's attitude today towards Angel, his mother was the nicest in the family so he could guess how his father and sister would react to the information. He had a tough battle ahead and he was prepared he needed to get married to her as soon as possible and that would leave his family with no other choice but to accept her. He knew by now his sister Stacy had been told, he made sure Angel had got in the bus before driving back home ,he planned on going to visit her at home when he had made things right with his family, since the matter had come to light , he called his sister, he knew his mother would be at home , so in the evening he's going to tell all about Angel and the fact that he was not ready to leave her for anything.
• Stacy was finding it hard to believe what her mother was saying, Max came in shortly and before saying hi to him she asked if what their mother was saying was true and when he confirmed it, she was short of words, she later asked if that was what he wanted, his sister was not nice but she was more understanding. Max understood why they felt that what he was doing was not right but then his heart had chosen her, he will not try fighting his emotions, he told them that he was not just dating her but he was planning on getting married to her.
