Chapter 15

• Maxwell waited for a while and asked the director to show him where Angel was staying, she told him and when he got to her door, he could hear her sniffing, he knew she was crying and that hurt him , it was as if there was something pricking his heart, he knew she had gone through a lot but they should at least talk about it, he wasn't going back without talking to her today, he waited for her while for her to cool down and when he could not hear any sounds or movement from inside , he tried opening the door but it was locked, the director was o watching from the window of her office and saw that he was still standing outside, she approached and asked why he wasn't going in and he told her the door was locked, the director wanted them to make up do she had to help hem, she had seen Angel struggle with her babies and it wasn't easy even though she pretended as if all was well, especially the communication part, the kids were talking but finding it very hard when their mother doesn't answer them back sometime they cry thinking she's ignoring them so having their father with them can help a lot ,with that thought, she gave Maxwell a key , when he opened the door, Angel was already fast asleep, breathing evenly, he can't afford to wake her up so he sat at the edge of the bed watching her, daughter t had been long since he saw her sleeping face , he sat there for long before she turned and f Lt something with her feet, she got conscious and sat up, on looking up she met his tired eyes, he was looking at her smiling, he said hi but Angel didn't respond, she wanted to send him away but something inside her told her to listen to him before cashing him away.
• She folded her hands across her chest after yawning, he thought the act was adorable and smiled, she was pissed and was about to stand up when he pinned her down and asked her to listen to him, I missed you , he said. She missed him too but she can't say that. Maxwell apologized and said that he was at fault for not taking care of her as he had promised. I know I promised to keep you safe but I failed ,I feel so terrible about myself I have blamed and hit myself countless times for failing to keep my promise, kindly find it in your heart to forgive me ,I will make it up for everything, just forgive me and let's go back home, I have learnt that we have adorable kids and am sure they will be happy to see their father too, ,said Maxwell, at the mention of the kids , Angel became more conscious and got down from the bed fast and went to check if her babies were still sleeping, when she confirmed they were there ,she heaved a sigh and looked at her m suggesting that he should leave, at least let me see them ,he pleaded with her, she can't deny that since ,they were in the same room, he has been staring at them for a long while until she waved but it was as if he was deep in thought. She taped him on the shoulder, he looked back at her with Misty eyes, he felt awful, but it wasn't time to regret but to make things right. He reached for her hand but she dodged and walked away, it wasn't going to be easy but he was ready for anything.
• Maxwell followed Angel back to bed and she told him to leave them alone and disappear, it hurt him so much but he had to endure, at least she was safe, he needs to work hard to make her trust him again because according to the way she was behaving it was as if she didn't trust him any longer and he felt bad for that .It was already late , Angel asked Maxwell to leave ,she was tired and needed to catch her sleep. He nodded and promised to come back the next day, Angel didn't know what to think or how to react, she just stood there and watched him leave, she looked at him until he disappeared at the gate. Angel went back after closing the door she couldn't find her sleep even though she said she wanted to. I can't allow him in my life again, she was thinking, I was hurt after trusting him and I ended up this way, he never bothered to look for me until now, I don't know his motive ,what about the kids he knows about them and has already seen them , I can't keep them away from him but I won't allow him to take them away. Angel has been thinking of the way forward for a while until she slept again, hoping to see him again the next day even though she wanted to stay away from him.
