Chapter 8 Moving

  • ADOPTED HEIR **Moving**          Isabella's P O V
  • I stood in front of the doctor's office in total shock. What the doctor said kept coming back to me.
  • "Without checking, there is 90 percent chance that you are pregnant. The hospital you went to was supposed to give you some medication that will help prevent you from getting pregnant." He had said.
  • "But, let's check to be sure doctor. I know this is your job but let's check." Felicity had insisted.
  • I was taken to a scan room minutes later and it was later confirmed.
  • Felicity had suggested terminating the pregnancy immediately but the doctor bluntly told her to be ready to lose me. He said I was too young and the safetest for me is to carry my baby and in good health. After those words I stood up and left his office.
  • I can't believe this. Nathaniel has succeeded in ruining my life.
  • What am I going to do? I promised my parents that I'm going to be successful in life before their death. Won't I be able to fulfill my promise to them?
  • The door behind me opened and both Felicity and Grams walked out of the doctors office.
  • "Let's go," Felicity said and started leaving.
  • Grams pulled me along with her till we got to Felicity's car.
  • Immediately Felicity turned to look at Grams.
  • "If you still want the best for your grand daughter, you have to trust me."
  • "Can you trust me, Olivia?" Felicity asked staring at Grams.
  • Grams turned to look at me.
  • "I want the best for my grand daughter. What is your plan?" Grams asked.
  • "I'll take her with me to Washington DC, that is where I base. That is where I run my family's business, there I have a lot of advantages and can take care of your grand daughter, after she gives birth you'll allow me adopt her." Felicity said.
  • I snapped my head to look at Grams immediately.
  • That will mean separating from her. I don't want to do that. I never want to.
  • "Let's do it." Gram's answer shocked me.
  • "But Grams..." I tried protesting.
  • "No, this is for your own good, Isabella. I can't sit here and watch you in pain anymore. I want you to have a better future so when I die I will be able to face my daughter and her husband." Grams said.
  • Tears started rolling down my eyes instantly.
  • "But grandma, I don't want to be separated from you."
  • "Can you still say that in this condition? You can't live with me forever, Isabella. Get that into your head." Grams scolded.
  • "Let's do it now. Go with her today," Grams turned to Felicity again and said.
  • "Alright, we'll have to go back to your house and pick a few things she'll need before leaving." Felicity agreed immediately.
  • She called her driver in and her driver turned and left the hospital. I rested my head against the seat and continued crying.
  • Today is not going well for me at all. What do I do...?
  • I hate today.         Nathaniel's P O V
  • "Nate. The private investigator I hired has finally gotten the address of that young girl. Let's head there immediately, he sent it to me." Mom rushed into my room and announced.
  • "Really?" I shrieked standing up from the bed.
  • "Yes. Yes. It took time but he finally got it." Mom replied.
  • "Okay, let me..let me change," I say and rushed to my closet to search for clothes.
  • After dressing up, I ran out to meet her at the hallway.
  • "Are you ready?" Mom asked.
  • More than ready mom, let's go. It's already been two weeks, I was told she never appeared in school once and her grandma reported her to be seriously ill. Maybe after apologizing to her she'll be able to resume school again, even if it means changing into a different school or moving out of the country, I will.
  • Mom and I got into her car. She gave Isabella's address to her driver and her driver took off.
  • We drove for a while before finally getting to a bungalow house.
  • But what is that car that is just leaving? I hope the occupants aren't people we are here to see tho.
  • Mom and I came down from her car and I immediately went to knock on the door of the house.
  • I knocked twice but there was no reply.
  • Okay, maybe they are really the ones in that car.
  • "I don't think they are at home, I think they just left in that car we just saw." I say to mom in frustration.
  • She sighs and walked to meet me.
  • "We can still come back tomorrow. The day after tomorrow to check them, you don't have to feel bad, Nathaniel." Mom says patting my messy hair.
  • I nod and look at the door again.
  • "Let's go," she led me back to the car and we entered.
  • Her driver drove us back to the house, just at the compound I saw my dad standing there with a man.
  • Okay, what is dad doing home now? And why does he have that expression on his face. I hope it's not me he is angry at tho.
  • "Honey, what are you doing home by now?" Mom also asked, surprised.
  • "Why didn't you tell me what your son did? Why didn't you tell me your son raped someone? A little girl of fifteen years old?" Dad screamed at mom.
  • Oh my gosh! How did he find out?
  • "Honey..I..it's not what you think. You see we were going to explain to you what really happened..."
  • "For two weeks, you were hiding it for two weeks. Don't give me that crab. It's because you over pamper him, that is why he is spoilt. Do you know what will happen when people finds out what your son did? Huh!" Dad thundered.
  • Mom hid me behind her immediately.
  • "Nathan, go pack your bags now. You are leaving for Portland immediately. You are going to stay with your elder brother who won't pamper you, from there you'll learn more about my company and focus on it. That way you won't have time to misbehave around." Dad ordered.
  • "Mom!" I called in total shock.
  • Mom also looks at me.
  • "What are you waiting for? Do you want me to break your thick skull?" Dad snapped and made to get me but mom quickly pushed me towards the entrance.
  • "Go and do as he says." Mom says to me with a sorry look on her face.
  • Defeated, I went up to my room and started packing my clothes. I can still hear dad's voice from here.  He can't stop screaming and mom can't stop trying to calm him down.
  • It's okay. I was ready to leave town after what I did to Isabella anyways. I just didn't know it was going to be like this.
  • After packing my bags, I went down with it.
  • Mom is standing in the middle of our huge sitting room looking so unhappy.
  • "Mom," I called. She turned to look at me and immediately ran to embrace me.
  • "I'm so sorry, Nate. I'm sorry I can't do a thing, you know it's hard to calm your dad down when he is angry like this. Maybe tomorrow, I'll try explaining....."
  • "No, let me go. I'm not going to stay with a stranger anyways, I'm going to stay with big bro. I just want you to explain things to Isabella on my behalf, help me tell her how sorry I am. I wish I'll be doing this myself but help me do it." I say.
  • Mom teared up and hugged me even more.
  • "I will. I will Nate, I promise. I'll explain things to her and makes sure she forgives you.," Mom said crying.
  • "I'm sorry for this too. If it were not for me, dad wouldn't have gotten angry with you today." I apologized.
  • "It's okay. You don't need to apologise, I understand you, Nate. You don't have to say a word my baby," she hugged me again and held me tight.
  • "What are you still waiting for? Your flight is leaving in an hour time. Get out and follow the man outside now, he'll escort you to Portland." Dad ordered coming towards us.
  • "Okay," I mumbled and left my mom.
  • I got hold of my bags and took them outside. The man I was supposed to follow opened his car for me and I got in. He got in with me and drove off.
  • I hate today.
  • I never got to see Isabella and I made dad mad at mom and now I'm even leaving without still seeing Isabella.
  • The man drove for a long time and we finally got to the airport. The man handed our passports to the flight attendants and they allowed us through the security check point.
  • We got into the airplane and sat down.
  • My phone that has been in my pocket started ringing almost immediately, I brought it out to see that it's Paul on the line.
  • I disconnected the call and switched my phone off.
  • There is no need talking to him. Mom will explain to them what happened.
