Chapter 15

• Melina tells Mrs. Costanzo everything. She doesn’t withhold any information about why she betrayed Thomas. Melina hopes she believes her as it will be nice to have someone who does. It’s been a minute since she finished explaining herself while sitting on Mrs. Costanzo’s couch in her living room.
• “I believe you, dear,” Kat says, and Melina’s eyes light up. She couldn’t believe Kat does believe her. Melina never imagined that someone would believe she had no choice but to betray Thomas. Kat has no idea how much it means to Melina that she believes her. That’s the only good thing that has happened since she arrived.
• “Thank you so much for believing me.” Melina pulls her in for a hug.
