• “Evelyn? What do you want?” Tyler asked. I don’t have time for this right now.
• Evelyn noticed he was in a hurry, but still she smiled. “I want to thank you for sponsoring my wedding. Oh, but you didn’t even tell me you got hitched. Do you even care about me? Honestly, Tyler, I feel guilty for not attending your wedding.” Behind her shy, reserved manner was a hint of tease.
• Fixing his gaze on her, Tyler sneered. “I don’t care about you. That’s your husband’s job. I sponsored the wedding because you’re holding it on my turf. I’d do the same thing for my friends as well, so don’t think too much about it. And please don’t feel guilty. We never even dated, so there’s nothing to feel guilty about.”
