Chapter 3 Who on Earth Is He?

  • Keira knew what agreeing to her father’s demand would mean. However, looking at the wrinkled face before her eyes, she didn’t have the heart to let her father suffer in jail. She had lost many things on this day, but she had also stopped caring about a lot of stuff.
  • “You’re my good child…” Kennedy looked gratefully at his daughter, but his heart was filled with ruthlessness.
  • ...
  • Inside the President’s office of Emerson International, a faint tobacco scent permeated the place.
  • A handsome man was seated on a chair as he was looking at a document with a cigar between his fingers. There was a picture on the top right corner of the document, which showed a woman’s face that he was familiar with.
  • Although he was gazing at the document, his mind was somewhere else.
  • On the side, the man with a ponytail, Harrison Fleming, stared at Tyler and uttered, “Boss, it’s really unexpected that Kennedy’s daughter, Keira, would admit the crime. He’s such a cunning old man.”
  • However, Tyler just snorted and flicked the ash off the cigar before speaking in a voice that was as light as a puff of smoke in the air. “Calling him cunning is probably an understatement. Even a tiger will never eat its cubs, but this man can’t even wait to send his daughter to jail!”
  • Staring at him, Harrison gave it a thought and uttered, “Boss, according to the information I’ve gathered, Keira is probably not Kennedy’s biological daughter.”
  • Tyler put on a sneer. “That’s where the fun comes in.”
  • Harrison’s face fell as he said to Tyler, “Harvey received a secret document given by us and went to condemn Kennedy. However, in the end, he was killed in Kennedy’s office, but it was Keira who got caught instead of Kennedy, which goes to show how sly he is.”
  • Tyler gave him a glance and replied impassively, “I don’t care whether or not Keira is his biological daughter. If he thinks he can go free by using this tactic, he has definitely made the wrong move!”
  • Then, his seemingly bottomless gaze reflected a darkness that was as deep as an abyss.
  • The next moment, he rose from the chair and uttered in a masculine voice, “Harrison, get the car ready and go to the police station.”
  • “Yes, Boss.” A glint flashed across Harrison’s eyes, after which they headed to the police station where Keira was detained.
  • Inside a small detention room, Tyler saw Keira once again.
  • The woman’s messy hair was tied into a ponytail, which revealed her blemish-free forehead and facial contour. The facial features on her thin face became even more angular.
  • At the same time, a sense of purity seemed to be exuding from her brown eyes. Her straight eyebrows made her look even more charming.
  • That was a fresh-looking face that could easily attract anyone’s attention.
  • Although she was clad in a gray prison uniform, the steadfastness and elegance that inadvertently exuded from her eyes made sure that no one could ever ignore her.
  • “Who are you?” Keira questioned coldly. While the handsome and suited man was sizing her up, she was also scanning him from top to toe.
  • His fitting black suit brought out the elegance in him. His brown hair hung loose beside the corners of his eyes, and his dark eyes, that were as beautiful as diamonds, revealed his nature as a businessman. As he narrowed his eyes, his face appeared even more alluring and attractive.
  • “You don’t have to know who I am. You just have to know that I’m here to save you, and that’s enough.” Tyler impassively curled up his thin lips and shot her a cold glance.
  • Keira was stunned for a moment before asking, “What? You’re here to save me? What do you mean? Are you a lawyer hired by my dad?”
  • Tyler gazed at her and replied slowly, “Do you still think that your father will hire a lawyer for you?”
  • Upon hearing that, Keira fell into silence.
  • He’s right. I’ve taken the fall for my dad. Even if he’s hired a lawyer, I will still have to go to jail.
  • Her heart was deeply conflicted, but she still thought that her father was right. If he went to jail, their family would be over.
  • As long as her father was around, she would still be a young lady after she got out of jail a few years later.
  • “Miss Whitlaw, the chance is right before your eyes. My arrival is your salvation.” Upon finishing his words, Tyler fished out a document from his bag and placed it in front of her.
  • “Have a look, Miss Whitlaw. I’m sure you’ll be interested.” Tyler spoke in a slow and small voice, but every word he uttered seemed able to make sure that no one could reject him.
  • After the document was presented to her, Keira gazed at it and felt doubtful.
  • Who on earth is this man? Why would he say such a thing? What does he mean that his arrival is my salvation? Isn’t he a lawyer hired by my dad?
  • “What on earth is this?” Instead of opening the document, Keira stared fixedly at the man’s face.
