• The next morning, Keira accompanied Tyler to Bellington Hospital to remove his stitches. Right after the doctor brought Tyler into the operating room, she took out her phone to give Leon a call. “President Sanford, I need to tend to something at home, so I will need to apply for a day’s leave.” Keira’s amber eyes were dim when she made quick work of her application.
• Upon receiving Keira’s call, Leon’s face fell, but he approved her leave nonetheless. “Alright, you should focus on tending to matters at home if that’s the case. You don’t have to worry about work. I’ll handle those.”
• “Thank you, President Sanford.” With a nod, Keira hung up while somehow feeling touched by his words. She knew Leon would approve of her leave no matter when she called. That was just how gentle and soothing his personality was.
