Chapter 8

• The door to the throne room opened and Nika stepped in,her father and mother with Amelia were the only one present in the room.Amelia was standing at a corner, when she noticed that Nika was present,she didn't fail to glare at Nika and this didn't go unnoticed by Nika who ignored her completely.
• "What is the meaning of this insolent behavior displayed by both of you earlier?"The king asked in a deep voice which could make one tremble.
• "I asked a question,"the king said when no one replied to him.
• "Dad,you should be asking Nika that,she is the cause of all this,if she had not tried to seduce my husband to be, this wouldn't have happened,she is also disrespectful,she doesn't know who her elder is,she thinks she can talk to me anyhow"Amelia stated which earned her a glare from Nika.
• "Is that true?"The king asked Nika.
• "It's of no use defending myself since you will side with Amelia at the end"Nika replied.
• "She is so rude,"The queen muttered.
• "I asked you a question Nika, Don't be disrespectful all the time"The king said to her.
• "That's what i'm talking about Dad,I am glad you witnessed her attitude yourself"Amelia said.
• "Enough Amelia"the king said to Amelia.
• "Now tell me Nika, what happened?I want to hear your side of the story,"the king said to her.
• "I did nothing wrong to her,I was just talking with Raphael and she concluded that something was going on between us, Amelia is just a trouble maker, and she started the fight,I can't sit back and watch her harm so I defended myself from her"Nika explained.
• "Princess Amelia, Don't you know that fighting I'm not allowed in this castle, how can you start a fight with your younger sister,you are the first daughter and first princess of this kingdom,you should live by example,I am highly disappointed in you"the king said to her.
• "Dad, don't tell me you believe her"Amelia who was surprised at the turn of events said to her father.she was expecting Nika to be blamed as usual but that is not what she was seeing,she was the one being blamed instead.
• "I believe what Nika said because I know what you are capable of doing,I want to change your behavior if you want to be the future queen of this kingdom,I can change my mind if you don't behave properly"The king said to her.
• Amelia's mouth was wide agape,she was still trying to process what happened,she couldn't believe her father was scolding her because of Nika.her father believed Nika over her.this didn't sit well with her.
• "Dad, aren't you going to say anything to Nika, like I said,she started all this.she was trying to seduce Raphael"
• "You will be punished for your behavior,you may leave now as you await your punishment"the king said to her.
• Amelia was more than shocked,she was going to be punished too.what about Nika?
• "Dad…what a….
• "I am talking to you as the king of this kingdom and not as a father,you may leave now before you face the consequences of disobeying the king"the king said to her.
• She stared at her mother expecting her to say something but her mother nodded indicating that she should obey her father.she rolled her eyes at Nika before leaving.
• Nika was surprised at how her father handled the matter.she didn't expect him to take her side.
• "I will take my leave now"she said trying to leave but was called back by her father.just as expected,she wasn't going Scott free too.
• "I want us to talk,"her father said to her.
