Chapter 11

  • I leaned into the taxi, adjusting, as I began to feel slight pains over my body. I decided to brace myself because one cannot lose twice. Since my boss was going to be around today, he would be monitoring the efficiency of his workers and that means any slight lapses could earn me a warning or a deduction of my salary. Sigh.

I noticed a few people sitted elegantly with their orders in front of them as I headed towards the bathroom to change my outfit to my work uniform but I halted on my tracks when I saw my employer. My heartbeat raced faster when I knew he was going to query me. I was late for work again.
