Chapter 13

• A dead silence reigns in the dining a few minutes later as the only sound that fills the air is the one coming from the cutlery. Alexa too is sitting with her brother, and picking on her food while having an unsatisfied look on her face, like the food doesn't satisfy her taste enough.
• Wendy glances at her for the umpteenth time, while wondering why every member of Alex's family hates her so much. What is her offense?
• "Are you sure you don't want to eat, honey?" Alex's voice jolts her back to reality, and she quickly shakes her head in denial. She has eaten before, and even if she hasn't, she doesn't have the appetite to. Not when Alexa is glaring hard at her. She would choke later if she tries to eat.
